i’m planning my classes for Squam Art Workshops 2012, and realized i hadn’t shared these photos yet from my Unconventional Embroidery class there in september. this was my first time teaching the september Squammies, (the artists, or “pagans”, as elizabeth lovingly calls them) and we had a fine time getting our stitches on. first i showed them some classic embroidery stitches, and we made mini samplers. then we got out the bark and leaves and twigs, broke all the rules, and made art. WOW! i was quite enamored with some of the results… see for yourself!
My favourite is the spider web on birch bark…what fun you all must have had!
So sad to have missed out on that class – fun stuff to play with! Maybe I’ll have to consider switching from June to September…
