// i LOVE rainy days. and when it rains, i love how the colors of nature seem to GLOW in a way that is somehow, paradoxically, washed out by the sun. the greens are my favorite, and at my house, it is the lichens especially that seem to become luminescent. so this curated collection from [...] i thought i’d have time for a few more posts before leaving for nyc in the morning, but alas my usual time warp has occurred… so in the meantime here are a few quick pics of the projects i’ve been working on in my *spare* time. i didn’t realize until now, seeing them together, that [...] last week i did a project i should be able to tell you about later this week… while i was in the city and at night i’ve been hooking on this sweater… and by day i’ve been stitching up new smock dresses! ***shop update may 1*** (she says nervously, hoping that posting it here will make it really [...] // i think y’all know by now that i am always on the prowl for what i call *good crochet*, especially in the fashion department. it is NOT easy to find! (trust me on this, any attempts to prove me wrong will be painful to your eyes). lately though, i have come across a handful [...] are you following the fiber? just in case you need a recap, the heavenly skein of yarn you see above was passed to me from the hands of the Spinner, aka jill draper, who makes stuff and blogs. and before jill made it into yarn, the fiber began its colorful adventure in the hands of [...] //
it’s always nice when you first check in with your computer in the morning and there’s news that you’ve been on the front page! i got lucky and it was actually still there when i clicked over, which really made my day. i love these earwarmers, and i have a few more i need to [...] it’s always lovely to hear from someone who has bought something from me, telling me that she is happy with her hodge podge piece. it’s even lovelier when she sends a photo of herself wearing it. but the other day i got an e-mail from a customer with a link to her music video in [...] i don’t usually go in for the “i saw this on another blog” type of post, but when i saw these crochet-covered recycled wood stools over on poppytalk the other day, i just about burst with glee. how perfect are they? i love everything this woman (her name is ingrid and her company is wood [...] i am late in sharing that i have a project in the sept/oct issue of crochet today, the lacy neckline ‘upcycled tee’ pictured above. i want to make myself one! it’s a really good issue, with an interview with margaret oomen of resurrection fern (and a pattern for some of her gorgeous crochet covered rocks), [...] |
