i really really admire bloggers who manage to post photos and write about events the same day they happen. unfortunately i am just not one of them. a couple weeks ago, my mom, sis and nieces came to visit, and we had a fun time right here in Accord. actually, all of these photos were taken [...] this is where i had lunch on tuesday. it was pretty awesome. of course, once i got the burrito in hand, i forgot all about picture-taking, or else i would show you how pretty (and huge!) it was. the surrounding farmland view was also lovely. if you are ever in red hook, NY, i highly [...] summer is a perfect season to embroider; you can use some artistic stitchery to embellish or mend just about anything. this saturday (june 26) i will be teaching a 4-hour embroidery and applique workshop at my favorite local shop: wing & clover in rhinebeck. if you are a creative soul, you must visit this lovely [...] i’ll be teaching a beginner sewing class in rhinebeck this weekend, at the lovely wing & clover. there are still spaces available! if you’ve been wanting to learn to sew, here’s your chance. by the end of the three class sessions, you’ll have made friends with your machine, and designed your own tote bag (like [...] one of the reasons i love teaching is that it pushes me to reconnect with all of the different mediums and techniques i love to use. it’s been quite a while since i taught block printing, but this sunday (3/21) i’ll be teaching it again at the lovely new shop wing & clover in rhinebeck, [...] ok, so remember that forecast i mentioned last week? well, there were a few things noaa left out. like, the part about how the trees would get so laden with heavy wet snow that they would all start to break. and that thousands of breaking limbs and falling trees would invariably knock down myriad power [...] #gallery-1 { just returned from my long weekend in the city, and this is the forecast: This Afternoon…Snow. Additional [...] this is was my valentine’s treat today, and MAN it was delicious! there was raspberry-ness mixed into the dark chocolate batter, and the whole thing was decadently moist, intensely chocolatey, and not too sweet. it was gotten at my favorite local bakery, which is not as near as i’d like, and that’s probably for the [...] well i’m about to become a very busy bee this month (or at least a busier bee than i’ve been so far this year). i’ve got a few new teaching venue relationships brewing, in and around my new upstate locale, which makes me happy because it means i am slowly beginning to wean myself off [...] |
