there are about a hundred reasons why i was thrilled that the magic of Google Alerts* led me to the delightfully anachronistic destination of Casey’s Elegant Musings. let’s see how many i can list: – Casey is adorable. and somehow simultaneously exists in the 1930′s and 2010. how does she do it? – she referenced my book [...] 1. Photo 316 little by little, photos of projects directly– or loosely– inspired by my book are being posted in the Design-It-Yourself [...] this friday evening (the 19th) i’ll be visiting my old neighborhood and signing books (with the ever-so-stylish kayte terry) at treehouse. come by and say ‘hi’! you know siri knows how to throw a party, so there’s bound to be yummy snacks and drinks, along with all kinds of handmade loveliness. we’ll be signing from [...] i just found out about this cute online independent knitting and craft magazine called Knitcircus, thanks to the fact that they’ve reviewed my book in their current issue! they have juicy interviews (liesl gibson and lily chin), cool articles (a visit to a sheep farm and mill) and some decent patterns (the spring thaw tee [...] it must have been very frustrating to be a craft book author back in the olden days. imagine not knowing if anyone ever made a project from your book? thanks to the wonder that is Google Alerts, i am notified daily when anyone mentions me, my book or my blog. and through this magical modern [...] i mentioned it last week, but just wanted to remind you that i’ll be signing books and showing how to take measurements at WORD in greenpoint, brooklyn, this thursday at 7:30. come by if you’re in the neighborhood and support your local independent bookseller! facebook users can help spread the word here. i have really been floored with the response i have gotten for the book thus far: blog mentions, reviews, comments and e-mails, all confirming my suspicion that a book like this was sorely needed in the sewing world. i wanted to share with you all some of the nice things people are saying, just in [...] if you’ve ever wondered about my background, where i came from, and how i came to do what i do, i’ve got good news for you: i was interviewed for the latest episode of the Craft Sanity podcast. it’s basically an hour-and-a-half interview with yours truly, and i pretty much tell my entire life story!
